Spring is finally here, and I can't wait to get out there and start walking! I'm an avid walker in the Sylvan Beach area; and like to walk on several different paths with various level of difficulties. I've actually managed to lose 120 lbs and feel so much better.
So, if you want to get out for just an easy stroll or try something harder for weight loss and better health, this is the group for you. Even if you just have cabin fever from being cooped up all winter and want to get out of the house, this is a great group to join because I see us relaxing together after our walks and friendships forming.
I am scheduling walks at the times I am available. I will always be at every walk I schedule unless the weather is bad. I will post cancellations the day before the walk, if needed.
I have three levels of walks and will lead the walks according to the level I schedule.
1st 15-20 mins easy pace
2nd 40 mins medium pace
3rd 1 hour medium pace to fast
I have a few different paths for each type of walk, and will be providing maps.
I know there will be people at different levels of fitness, and I have no problem with other people leading a walk different from the one I schedule. I look at this site as more of a communication board for anyone who wants to organize a walk in the area. I think I am the only one who can post though. So if you want me to post something, just send me a message and I will post it as soon as I can. I will be checking the site daily.
I will always start the walk and end at the Bath House there by the Amusement Park. I will start my evening weekday walks at 4:30pm/5pm until June. As the day lengthens, I will meet later around 6pm/6:30pm. I am off every other Friday morning, and hope to get a level 3 walk going then. I would love feedback on when the best times and paths are for everyone, i.e. would a later time on Sundays be better?
I will not be scheduling a walk on Easter Sunday, April 21st, but would be glad to put something on the board for anyone who wants to lead one.
