What do you find most interesting about The Land Ops Adventure Group?

What gets me is that we can go to a desolate, remote, uninhabited areas and do adventurously geekish things that you just can't do anywhere else. And, in between the activities you capture the vast beauty of where we are.

Do you own a vehicle you can take off road? If so what kind?

1999 Jeep Wrangler equipped with radio and navigation systems. Previous vehicles to drive; 4 Runner, Jeep CJ7 and Nissan Xterra. Been seriously stuck or stranded seven times in three states.

Do you own a GPS device for geocaching? If so, what kind?

Primary Land-Nav system is iPad connected to GNS Bluetooth GPS (GNS 5870 MFI) and app software. Handheld is Magellan Triton 400, old dash mounted Garmin V backup and my Laptop (in the Jeep) serving as secondary APRS with UI-View mapping software.

Are you a licensed Ham radio operator? If YES, please give call sign. If NO, do use any other two way radio communications such as FRS/GMRS?

KI6QBM /ARRL and ARES member / also FIRST AID/CPR/AED certified

How did you hear about Land Ops?

I founded it. So, I guess I heard it from my mind.

Greetings from your Land Ops Chief Organizer. My mission is to present you with unique adventure missions that allow you to drive off road, explore, navigate, communicate by radio, and be part of an expedition style team.
