I'm Robert Bohne, RobertBohne.com. I am passionate about landscape painting directly from nature, also known as Plein Air painting. I'm starting this group to meet others who also love plein air painting, to paint, scout out new locations, and to share ideas. I'm an experienced painter. I've studied at PAFA and Fleisher, and I'm represented by several galleries, including Artist's House in Phila., and I'm more than happy to assist beginners. So if you're just starting out, don't be shy. We all have to start somewhere. I paint out doors almost every week, regardless of the weather. Yes, even in the snow. I've found some great locations to paint, and I'm always on the lookout for more. We will paint in Phila. and the surrounding areas. Both city and country. Our first paint out will be Sunday, Nov. 25th, 10:30 am on Philadelphia's Race St. Pier. It's right next to the Ben Franklin bridge off of Columbus Blvd. There's usually plenty of meter parking right in front of the pier, so bring quarters. It's a terrific place to paint with a variety of views.
Once again we will be painting at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Yeadon/Phila. We will be painting in the Yeadon portion. The entrance is on Cobbs Creek Parkway. Plenty of free parking. There is a yellow entrance gate that will be unlocked. Just push it open for entrance. There are some really nice Corot like views worthy of painting.
