Lauren Wood talks about "Simple Principles for Website Security"

Details

Join us for an evening with Lauren Wood talking about simple principles of website security.

Web security is a huge, involved topic that is like an arms race between the people wanting access to your web site, and you wanting to protect it. If you're setting up websites for friends and family, or a small business, you don't need extreme measures, but you do need to follow some simple principles to lessen the chances that your website will be hacked. Lauren will go over the most important of these, and also discuss a few other web safety measures.

Lauren Wood is an independent consultant with Textuality Services, Inc. She teaches at the XML Summer School in Oxford, England, works on healthcare standards for a US-based company, and used to work for Sun Microsystems on identity and privacy standards.

Arrive between 6:00pm and 6:30pm to network with other attendees. The presentation starts at 6:30pm. The evening consists of a 45 minute talk by Lauren Wood, followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the audience.
