"What testing framework should we use" is a question I hear more and more within engineering teams. So how do you decide what framework to use given that not all testing frameworks suit your needs? I was recently asked this question and decided, instead of settling for an existing framework, I would decide to build my own. And thus, the FRANC (Full Risk Analysis of New Concept) test framework was born.

During this process, I uncovered enlightening discoveries, benefits of having full control of your framework, and drawbacks that come with creating a framework from scratch.

Bio: My name is Monica Friend, Monica A Friend because of course it is! I have been described as a tester friend, mental health advocate and a human among humans. With 8 years of testing experience in highly regulated industries, I have become very familiar with the risks that come with working heavily with compliance, legal, and technical constraints. When I'm not testing, I love dancing in my apartment, riding my scooter around Chicago, and chilling with my two cats: Alex Trebek and Sean Connery.
