Writer’s Workshop Wednesdays:
The Las Cruces New Mexico Writers’ Group’s Writing Workshop will be every Wednesday 6pm to 8pm. Writers will be required to bring projects to the workshop via laptops and or notebooks to be worked on at least an hour and a half onsite. One of the main components of the workshop is committing oneself to the discipline of writing on a regular or daily basis. Another component is to encourage advanced and new writers to begin or continue works-in-progress development; including the learning of various formats of fiction, non-fiction and other writings that agents, publishing houses and self-publishing houses require. Works-in-progress development will also include the organization of projects’ chapters, outlines, synopses and optional full critique of works.
Included will be twenty minutes to go over various writers’ topics; such as finding and researching the publishing house that best fits your project’s genre and subject, the do’s and don’ts of query and cover letters, proper submissions of works-in-progress to in-house editors and or electronic submission editors. Available will be help to writers that have feedback from a publishing entity for possible publication to meet suggested feedback edits, ideas and suggestions or help those planning to self-publish ready their projects for submission. Please RSVP for Wednesday meetings.
