KINGMAN WASH FUN DIVING
Details
Join us for "fun diving" at Lake Mead's Kingman Wash on Sunday, May 31, 2015, starting around 9:00am. We will plan our dives and dive our plans, but otherwise, this will be an unstructured event.
BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage, Bring Your Own Bubbles) and come on out and leave some bubbles behind in FABULOUS Lake Mead. Find a new dive buddy, tune-up your buoyancy, practice your skills, or just soak up the sun and swap diving stories, lies, dreams about future diving trips, and maybe dive "THE SLOT".
Bring your own shade, snacks and beverages.
I'll have a "meetup.com" sign in the windshield of my gray/silver Kia Sorento to help you figure out who I am and where I'm parked on the beach at Kingman Wash. See below for directions to Kingman Wash.
Kingman Wash Access Road is a marginally maintained dirt road. 4WD vehicles, SUV's and pickup trucks can make this trip OK under normal conditions. If you try this with a regular passenger car, you may have trouble in negotiating this road because of ground clearance issues. EVERYONE should be attentive to large rocks in their path... especially in the "beach" area!
Except for an "outhouse" that's a half-mile from the "beach", there are no comfort or convenience facilities at Kingman Wash. You should plan accordingly. Among other things, bringing your own personal emergency roll of toilet paper is a good idea... sometimes the outhouse has none.
Your questions, comments, and suggestions for future events are welcome!
DIRECTIONS TO KINGMAN WASH:
Take I-515 South & US Hwy 95/93 South from Las Vegas toward Hoover Dam. After crossing the Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (the new Hoover Dam bypass bridge) into Arizona, take Exit #2 (Kingman Wash Access Road). Turn left onto Kingman Wash Access Road and follow the dirt road approximately 3.7 miles to the "beach" at Kingman Wash.
