Pitch Practice

Details
Join us for a pitch night practice at Work in Progress in Downtown Las Vegas! At WIP we hold quarterly startup pitch nights where investors come and listen to startup owners pitch their business ideas. Think Shark Tank but without the cameras and Mark Cuban.
To pitch at a WIP pitch night, you must attend a Work in Progress pitch practice. We hold practice pitch events to help presenters clean up their ideas and presentation, and to give them a chance to learn from other presenters.
The practice will begin with a group exercise and instruction followed by practice pitches. The pitches will follow the format of our formal pitch nights; 8 minutes max of presentation followed by 2 minutes of questions. You may shorten your presentation time if you want to leave more time for Q&A. There will be time for no more than 8 presenters, but anyone can attend to watch.
During each practice pitch, audience members will fill out anonymous feedback sheets for each presenter. These will be collected and given to the respective pitcher at the end. The Work in Progress instructor will complete a review of each presenter as well.
Coming to a pitch practice doesn’t guarantee you a spot at our formal pitch night, but it does give you preferential treatment and it’s required to pitch at our pitch nights.
To register to present at the Work in Progress pitch practice, email Jacey at jacey@workinprogress.lv and tell us your name, a brief description of what you’ll be pitching, and whether or not you’re available to pitch at our formal pitch night on Thursday, June 28 from 6-8p.
Also, pizza.
