Planting Trees for Urban Reforestation
It will be there rain or shine. This will be an opportunity to make the area around us better. It will be a chance to beautify Atlanta and get to know people who want to make the area around us better. The below is the group we will be doing the work for. https://treesatlanta.org/ 1)We will planting trees from 9 am to 12 pm. It is important to arrive on time as we only provide one demonstration (it takes 10 minutes) and every volunteer needs to see it. This is the ONLY part you volunteer and do if you don't want to come to breakfast and lunch with us. 2)Wear closed-toed shoes or boots (waterproof is best), long pants such as jeans (no leggings or athletic wear), sunscreen and bug spray as needed. 3)Bring drinking water in a reusable container. 4)Tree maintenance is hard work, everyone please eat a good breakfast and come prepared to work hard(if you choose not to come to breakfast with us). A snack might be a good thing for those who tend to lose steam. 5)Projects happen rain or shine, so please check the weather beforehand and come prepared. 6)Trees Atlanta will provide all necessary tools and instruction, though volunteers may prefer to bring their own work gloves. 7)We will get Breakast and lunch after it together somewhere so plan on going to lunch and breakfast with the group. We will decide lunch together. We will go get nice lunch. Breakfast will be fast and quick. 8)We will meet for Breakfast at Waffle House, 860 Glenwood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316. The address is 412 Nolan St. SE Atlanta, GA 30315. There is a small parking lot on site, but if you have more than a few cars, you can park along Nolan Street.
