Join us for some fun yoga laughter exercises to improve your health and happiness! What is Laughter Yoga? Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for no reason without relying on jokes or comedy. How do you practice it? We initiate laughter as an exercise in a group but with eye contact and childlike playfulness. It soon turns into real and contagious laughter. Why is it called Laughter Yoga? The reason we call it Laughter Yoga is because it combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing. This brings more oxygen to the body and to the brain which makes you feel more energetic and healthy. Really? The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter if done with willingness. You get the same health benefits. The history behind Laughter Yoga: It was started by a medical doctor, Dr. Madan Kataria from India with just five people in a Mumbai park in 1995. Today there are more than 6000 Laughter Yoga Clubs in more than 72 countries. In 2015, Laughter Yoga will celebrate it's 20th Anniversary. In addition to social Laughter Clubs, Laughter Yoga is also practiced in companies and corporations, fitness centers, yoga studios, senior centers and homes, schools, colleges, universities, cancer centers, prisons, day care centers etc.

Got enough laughter in your life? We all could use more : ) Would you like to become a certified Laughter Yoga Leader? Want to find out more about the next training and the endless possibilities of applying Laughter Yoga to your life? Would you like us to come and present a Laughter Yoga Workshop at your office, place of business, for your organization, club, at your hospital or anywhere else? We are constantly looking for places to share the laughter, lift the spirits, uplift people's lives.

Joy & Laughter with Kim O

Laughter Yoga (Hasya Yoga) is a laughter exercise program created in 1995 by physician Dr. Madan Kataria in India. Today it is practiced in more than 110 countries and at over 20'000 laughter clubs.

Laughter Yoga combines:

  1. laughter exercises (not based on jokes or comedy) but rather on everyday situations, good & frustrating. We practice the art of unconditional and extended laughter (which allows practitioners to draw in more oxygen to the body, helping to reduce stress, increase dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin levels and positive endorphins to the brain.
  2. Yogic breathing exercises ( hence the word YOGA in Laughter Yoga). There are NO YOGA POSES but we do incorporate gentle stretching, clapping and other fun movements.
All exercises can be performed seated or standing. No experience necessary. All that is required, is a willingness to laugh. It's fun to get experimental with your laughter. : )
  3. Mindfulness Meditation

Laughter club sessions are FREE and everyone is welcome.
No yoga mat necessary.
Dress comfortably and pack a bottle of water.

All meetings are on zoom during the pandemic.
