Join us for some fun yoga laughter exercises to improve your health and happiness! What is Laughter Yoga? Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for no reason without relying on jokes or comedy. How do you practice it? We initiate laughter as an exercise in a group but with eye contact and childlike playfulness. It soon turns into real and contagious laughter. Why is it called Laughter Yoga? The reason we call it Laughter Yoga is because it combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing. This brings more oxygen to the body and to the brain which makes you feel more energetic and healthy. Really? The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter if done with willingness. You get the same health benefits. The history behind Laughter Yoga: It was started by a medical doctor, Dr. Madan Kataria from India with just five people in a Mumbai park in 1995. Today there are more than 6000 Laughter Yoga Clubs in more than 72 countries. In 2015, Laughter Yoga will celebrate it's 20th Anniversary. In addition to social Laughter Clubs, Laughter Yoga is also practiced in companies and corporations, fitness centers, yoga studios, senior centers and homes, schools, colleges, universities, cancer centers, prisons, day care centers etc.

Got enough laughter in your life? We all could use more : ) Would you like to become a certified Laughter Yoga Leader? Want to find out more about the next training and the endless possibilities of applying Laughter Yoga to your life? This can help you personally, with your friends and family, in your community and at work. A great way to add more joy to your life and to those around you.

Would you like us to come and present a Laughter Yoga Workshop at your office, place of business, for your organization, club, at your hospital or anywhere else? We are constantly looking for places to share the laughter, lift the spirits, uplift people's lives.

Laughter Yoga Fitness, Media, PA!

Media Borough Community Center

Hello Laughter Friends! Join us for some laughter exercises at the Media Borough Hall Community Room, where we will fill this big banquet room with laughter and positive energy. ---------- Laughter Yoga is celebrating it's 24th Anniversary this year and is practiced in 108 countries and at over 16000 laughter clubs. LY is the combination of laughter exercises + deep yoga breathing. Laughter Yoga was created in 1995 by cardiologist Dr. Madan Kataria and his yoga instructor wife, Madhuri. NO YOGA POSES- but don't worry, this is still considered an aerobic workout. That said, all the exercises are very easy to follow, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. You will burn calories, you will give your diaphragm a good work out and you will leave feeling great, no exaggeration. We practice laughing for the sake of laughing to benefit our health. We don't use comedy or jokes to provoke the laughter. Instead, you will be guided by a Laughter Yoga professional into following some fun & simple laughter exercises which include clapping, chanting, singing, dancing, gibberish and of course, LAUGHING. We will have you giggling in no time. Everyone feels uplifted and energized after our sessions. Laughter reduces the stress, anxiety and depression. Laughter opens up the blood vessels, increases your oxygen levels to the body and brain and boosts the immune system. Did you know that: - the Navy uses LY to reduce post traumatic stress syndrome? - Cancer patients at the Mayo clinic use LY to build up their immunities and to increase T-cells? - Research at U of MD Medical Center has shown that LY increases the net oxygen to the body, which expands the arteries to help blood flow, helping to regulate blood pressure? - Laughter brings us the the present moment and helps to reduce chronic pain -LY helps us face life's challenges and helps us build positive behaviors and resilience? Get strong, get laughing! Laughter Yoga is non-religious and non-political. Laughter Club meetings are open to all- ages 16 and up. If you are unable to perform standing exercises, you can do them seated and we will come to you. No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome. No yoga poses. Curious to know more about Laughter Yoga and what happens at a laughter session? Here is a recent article from Philly voice: http://www.phillyvoice.com/we-tried-it-learning-laugh-it-laughter-yoga/ Fee: Laughter Clubs are FREE but we will gladly accept a donation to the SMILE TRAIN CHARITY http://www.smiletrain.org/ , which helps restore smiles and self-confidence to someone's life. You can help make a difference! Please bring a water bottle. We thank you for arriving 10 mins. early to sign in and so that we can start on time. We look forward to laughing with you soon! If you would like me to bring LY to your group, please inquire about my special presentations and workshops.
