This meetup is for everyone who supports people with memory challenges: Care givers, family, health care professionals and Laughter Yoga leaders. Each meetup will have specific goals and tools provided: • Care givers & family: will learn how laughter brings joy back into the lives of those cognitively challenged and significantly reduce stress for both you and your loved one • Health care professionals such as Activity Personnel in Memory Care communities will learn tools on how to bring the benefits of laughter into the daily lives for themselves and the residents • Laughter Yoga leaders will learn how to adapt laughter for participants with cognitive challenges. If you are leading a class for assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care this class is for you.     This is the first meet-up in a series of Laughter Is The Best Medicine. The primary focus of this meet-up is to provide the benefits of laughter to alleviate depression and anxiety.

    What is the "best medicine" for depression? Laughter Yoga changes the brain chemistry immediately starting with simply smiling. As the brain chemistry changes so does the symptoms associated with depression.

    Laughter Yoga is a unique wellness program because it has physical, mental and social benefits. Anyone can do it regardless of physical or cognitive challenges.
