Ruthless, egoistic, power-hungry: popular associations attached to Nietzsche's conception of the Ubermensch. However, a close reading of "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" (sorry I can't figure out how to italicize on this program) reveals these associations to be more than hasty. More in line with Nietzsche's Ubermensch, surprisingly, is the early Wonder Woman story. Breaking chains, real altruism, truth: the ideals she represents; the ideals of the Ubermensch.

Join me in this guided discussion at the Barnes and Nobel next to Rittenhouse Square! I'll upload some readings - it would be helpful to read them beforehand, however it's all good if you just want to show up and chat!
