Ignacio Fernández, Director of ProChile in UK is a lawyer from the University of Chile and also has a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the University of Sheffield. Before he was posted to the UK, he was Deputy Director of the Chilean Export Promotion Bureau (PROCHILE) leading the team in charge of supporting Chilean SMEs in their internationalization. He was also involved in negotiations of Chile’s trade agreements, was the chief lawyer in the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreements that Chile established with Australia and Japan and the head of the Chilean delegation for the services negotiations at the World Trade Organization.

Santiago Lecaros, Trade Advisor at ProChile in UK, works in the Commercial Office of the Chilean Embassy in London. Previously he was Chief of Staff at the Vice Ministry of Tourism of the Chilean Government where he oversaw the creation of the Tourism Strategy for Chile. Before his work in government, he was an analyst and portfolio manager in the Chilean financial industry.

Juan Carlos Soto, Operating Partner in UK for Genesis Ventures, has an engineering background and has had an international career in multinationals and start-ups in a range of industries including oil and gas, aerospace and renewable energy. Genesis Ventures is a venture capital firm with its head office in Chile that invests internationally in scale-up companies in Series A and B.

Ignacio Fernández, Director de ProChile en el Reino Unido, es abogado de la Universidad de Chile y también tiene una maestría en Economía Política Internacional de la Universidad de Sheffield. Antes de ser enviado al Reino Unido, fue Director Adjunto de la Oficina de Promoción de Exportaciones de Chile (PROCHILE), liderando el equipo a cargo de apoyar a las PYMES chilenas en su internacionalización. El Sr. Fernández también ha participado en las negociaciones de los acuerdos comerciales de Chile. Fue el principal abogado en las negociaciones de los Acuerdos de Libre Comercio que Chile estableció con Australia y Japón, así como el jefe de la delegación chilena para las negociaciones de servicios en la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC).

Santiago Lecaros, Asesor Comercial de ProChile en el Reino Unido, estudió Economía y Negocios, seguido por una Maestría en Economía en Políticas Públicas, en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y luego una Maestría en Artes en Gestión de las Artes y la Cultura en el prestigioso King´s College London.
Actualmente trabaja en la Oficina Comercial de la Embajada de Chile en Londres. Anteriormente, fue Jefe de Gabinete del Viceministerio de Turismo del Gobierno de Chile, donde supervisó la creación de la Estrategia de Turismo para Chile. Antes de su trabajo en el gobierno, él fue analista y gerente de portafolio en la industria financiera chilena.

Juan Carlos Soto, Socio operativo en el Reino Unido (con sede en Edimburgo) para Genesis Ventures, ha tenido una carrera internacional en multinacionales y Start-ups en Chile, Canadá, Inglaterra y Escocia, en una variedad de industrias que incluyen petrolera, aeroespacial y energía renovable.
Genesis es una firma de capital de riesgo con sede en Chile que invierte internacionalmente en empresas en crecimiento en Series A y B.
