About: Lean In Women of Color was founded by a Lean In Regional Leader as an initiative to provide tools for women of color who were in need of peer support, mentorship and the ability to advance in the workplace and society. While Lean In—the program founded by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook—promotes education resources to address gender barriers, Lean In Women of Color confronts some of the barriers and biases women of color face so many more can advance into senior levels and positions of influence.
Our work: In the last year, the Lean In Women of Color program was adopted by Procter and Gamble’s workplace and Facebook highlighted the Lean In Women of Color Facebook group on International Women’s Day this past year.
As an equal pay day champion, we have collaborated with nonprofit organizations such as LCLAA, National Domestic Farm Workers, National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum to spearhead multiple equal pay day campaigns both locally and nationally. Our campaign contributions such as graphics and talking points have been utilized by leading organizations such as the Women’s March on Washington and the Women’s Funding Network.
