Santa Barbara's Quantum Revolution
Details
Quantum computing will drive the next significant human revolution by making previously incomprehensible system modeling possible. This will lead to unprecedented leaps forward in nearly every field, from medical research, to cybersecurity, to material sciences, to how the universe is understood. Fortunate for you, the scientists leading this revolution are your neighbors, right here, in Santa Barbara.
Join us on February 27th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Good Space for an interactive panel about the state of quantum computing in Santa Barbara. Speakers include globally distinguished scientists:
- Dr. John M. Martinis (UCSB Professor and Lead Research Scientists at Google's Quantum AI initiative)
- Dr. Ania Jayich (UCSB Professor and Co-director of UCSB's Quantum Foundry)
- Dr. Leon Balents (UCSB Professor and KITP Theoretical Physicist)
- Moderator: Conor O'brien, MRI Physicist, bioProtonics
The panelists will discuss, for both scientists and the general public, how quantum computing will change the world and what specifically their work will focus on in the coming five years.
Come learn what the future holds!
- Hosted by Lean Startup Circle and UCSB's Society of Physics Students
