MINI-WORKSHOP: How to get HONEST feedback from your users (or potential users)

The best products in the world are built by teams that use quick and easy user research to their advantage. You don't need to be the world's best researcher to get honest feedback from users about your idea or your product. There's a real art to getting feedback on your startup, product or idea though. You can bias the results easily, whether it's by asking leading questions, getting the structure wrong, or even through your own enthusiasm for your idea. In this talk we'll learn some quick and easy techniques for asking non-leading, storytelling questions, then test them out in a mini workshop activity.

David Cox
Founder/CEO, Advanced Catering Solutions

"Once upon a time, chefs in large-volume kitchens used primitive pen-and-paper methods to record critical food safety data. Every day, QA and chefs would be really stressed because the data was incomplete, inaccurate or fabricated.

One day, we invented a user-friendly technical solution that allowed food safety data to be recorded easily, effectively and efficiently. Because of that, caterers could rely on the data they had to demonstrate a remarkable level of compliance and protect them from brand damage. Because of that, their customers were able to rely on the integrity and safety of their food.
Until finally, chefs could focus on what they were really employed to do: cook world class food."

The world’s large-volume catering chefs have been left behind in the technological age. They are experiencing stress and pain because the only food safety and logistics solutions they have available are primitive, pen-and-paper techniques or tech that is totally ineffective in this particular industry. They deserve to be liberated.

We will do this by using our team’s 50 years combined experience in large-volume catering, technology development and marketing to provide truly revolutionary but chef-friendly hardware/software solutions that will create the future of food safety compliance.

We are developing industry-first handheld devices with cloud software and analytical capability that will raise food safety compliance, reduce clients’ risk profile and increase operational efficiency.
