Bonus for previous LSMSF attendees: Previous LSMSF attendees get 50% off, just mention LSMSF Alumni in the application.

See their write up below to get the link to apply.

I hope you're all having a fabulous holiday season!

And there's another thing: LSM folks are partnering up with the fabulous folks at LUXr:

Get the most out of Lean Startup Machine by training up in advance!

LUXr is offering a 1 day Lean User Experience workshop on January 10. This is a great opportunity to get ready for Lean Startup Machine on the 13th.

The workshop covers:

  • Understanding your customer: Lean Persona generation, identifying assumptions about your customer and turning them into hypotheses, validating these hypotheses ("getting out of the building"), and understanding your customers' needs. You'll learn dump and sort methods, Persona sketching, and the essentials of User interviews.
  • Acting on Customer Needs: Ideation around how customers could use your product to meet their needs, validating those uses and deriving and prioritizing features from them. You'll learn 6-up sketching, dot voting, and the 2x2 prioritization grid.
  • Metrics: An introduction to qualitative vs. quantitative research. You'll learn when each is appropriate, and some lightweight frameworks for qualitative research and understanding your results.
  • Values/Vision: Eric Ries said that "Your values are the foot you leave on the floor when you pivot." Understanding your shared values as a product team is essential to having a high functioning balanced team. You will analyze the Why, What, and How of your product and ensure that the whole team has shared values and a shared understanding of the product vision. You'll learn the Strategy Pyramid.
  • 10 Principles of Lean UX: You'll learn the behaviors that make UX work in an agile/Lean Startup environment and why they are important.
