Hacking 101: Virtual Box

Hacking 101: Virtual Box

Details

This event will be led by our very own Ken Compres. Ken Compres is the Senior Network Security Engineer for Hillsborough Community College working out of the Ybor city campus. He is heavily involved in the local Tech and InfoSec community and has provided a lot of support to SOFWERX here in Ybor.

This weeks topic will be a hands on introduction to Virtual Machines. We will install/setup a Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) and install/setup an operating system (Kali Linux) within this virtual environment. Please, bring your laptops as we kick off our inaugural Security 101 Meetup.

Parking Information and Directions:

For those who have not been to our beautiful new building before, public parking is available in the Palm Parking Garage. There are two-hour parking spots available along the street as well. The main entrance to SecureSet is located on the patio at the East side of the old Don Vicente hotel. You will see an open black gate at the back-right corner of the East patio. Take the stairs to the second-floor patio and enter through the French doors.

Please also see Kim or Karla and sign in on the SecureSet tablet.
