Registration required for access to the event: https://secureset.com/event/online-capture-the-flag-for-beginners-tpa-032620/

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to affect many parts of the world, we know the potential impact is on everyone’s mind. The health and safety of you, your families, and our global community is our highest priority. With this in mind, it is out of an abundance of caution that we have decided to host this event virtually!

We encourage you to join any of our upcoming webinars to learn more about cybersecurity.

CTF includes challenges for all skill levels. It’s an excellent event for honing your current arsenal of hacking skills or for taking home some new ones. This event will connect you with other cyber-minded peeps and you’ll have a blast with real-life hacking!

Capture the Flag is an event where individuals and teams compete against each other in a cybersecurity game full of puzzles to solve. Our Cybersecurity CTF environment contains four different domains: Networks, AppSec, Python, and Cryptography. Within each domain there are multiple levels that build off of each other and get progressively harder. In order to get through Level 2, you’ll need information from Level 1, and so on. The first level is the easiest, and the levels get progressively harder as you go. Similar to golf, you can compete against yourself, or other participants in the room.

Our Capture the Flag for Beginners portion of the agenda is designed specifically for individuals who are new to CTF and want to dive headfirst into the cybersecurity game. Starting at the first level, our instructor will help guide you through setup, navigating the environment, and learning the basics of Capture the Flag—it’s like hacking with training wheels!

Capture the Flag has something for everyone! Beginner friendly levels if you’re new to CTF through levels that will challenge the most seasoned professionals.

This SecureSet event is eligible for 3 hours of CPE credit! Ask a SecureSet staff member at the event if you would like to receive a CPE certificate.

Agenda:
7:00 to 7:30pm | Setting up your machine – what is a CTF?
7:30 to 8:00pm | Instructor guided beginner levels
8:00 to 10:00pm | Capture the Flag

Registered attendees will receive an email with information on how to access the event on March 26th: https://secureset.com/event/online-capture-the-flag-for-beginners-tpa-032620/

What you’ll need:

  • Laptop and power cord
  • Ability to access 802.11n (2.4 GHz) wireless
  • All levels require a web browser and an SSH client (or the ability to install new programs. If you don’t have the right tools, we will help you get set up!)

Who should attend:

  • Cybersecurity beginners, students, and hobbyists
  • Anyone curious about cybersecurity or ethical hacking
  • No previous programming or cybersecurity experience required!

If you love hacking and you enjoy a little competition, you won’t want to miss out on our CTF events. CTF is a way to put your real-life hacking skills to the test in a safe and controlled environment. If you get stumped, our staff can answer any questions you have.
