What we're about

Dancing is such a fun way to meet people and great exercise! We formed this group so Roseville/Sacramento area dancers, new and old alike, can come socialize and meet new friends while learning Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, Hustle and/or Bachata. If you don't have any dance experience, there is no need to worry - helping beginning dancers is our specialty - you will be dancing in NO time!

"... excellent and fun teachers, Elliot is funny and helps you to relax w/his macho humor. These two approach their teaching style with ease and elegance. If your thinking about learning salsa I highly recommend this Meetup. I am having a great time and expect to learn more advanced salsa as I progress from beginner to intermediate. JF"

Salsa - Beginning Basics Plus!

Roseville Jazzercise Studio

PLEASE NOTE: There are generally 10+ students in class regardless of counts shown on Meetup. There seems to be a glitch which prevents RSVP counts from consistently displaying properly. Salsa is one of the most popular club-style partner dances worldwide, and with reason...it's addicting! Once you get started, you won't want to stop. This class is perfect for the beginning dancer with no experience as well as the more advanced beginning student. Newcomers will learn the basic foot pattern, turns and proper lead/follow technique. More advanced beginning students will execute the same basic moves while practicing more advanced techniques (cuban motion, lead/follow posture, styling). Once proficient, dancers may progress to the semi-private intermediate class (instructor approval required - space available basis). Private lessons are encouraged for those dancers who wish to advance more quickly. Drop-ins are welcome and partners are not required. Please expect the male/female ratio to be uneven - we will rotate partners to ensure all can practice. Visit our website at http://genoviadance.com for more information.

Beginning Bachata - Progressive Class

CMS Fitness Studio

This night and time slot is set aside for a "rotating" lesson. The lesson will change each month from Int. Salsa to Bachata, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Casino de Rueda and more. I offer these lesson because salsa clubs play a variety of music and students can gain experience about these other styles. I will schedule the lessons on a two month basis for planning purposes. Stay tuned to the calendar. :) Visit our website at http://genoviadance.com for more information. This month the rotating lesson is: Beginning Bachata To attend this lesson, please know the basic Bachata timing, movement and basic step. I want to teach a nice Intermediate pattern for the whole month. If this sounds like a lesson you want to do, please come. If you are not familiar with Bachata or cannot make the first two weeks, please pass on this lesson so you don't hold the rest of the students back while you catch up. We will start the first night with Bachata basics and progressively add more challenging steps and make it into a fun pattern for everyone and challenge you but not overwhelm you. I want to make you comfortable moving around the dance floor.
