Bookclub: The Forager's Harvest

Join Suburban Foragers, Paul Tappenden and Susan Montemorano, for an informative discussion of foraging field guides at the Forager's Bookclub. This month's book is The Forager's Harvest by Samuel Thayer.

We will serve foraged food for sampling and share our own adventures with the plants discussed in Sam's book.

Please join us even if you haven't read the book.

Here is Paul's cell phone if you don't see him at the Art Cafe:[masked]-5822.

Buy the book directly from the author here.

This first meeting of the Suburban Foragers book club was lively and full of great information. We learned that Samual Thayer's foraging manual ‘A Forager's Harvest’ is the best of its kind. It is easy to understand, well laid out, and contains all the novice needs to know about living the foraging life.

Rockland Forager, Paul Tappenden, and herbal teacher Elana Fine were on hand to also answer questions about local wild foods and herbal remedies. We had many questions and shared many foraging experiences. I am looking forward to next month's book club on November 20 at 7:00pm. That evening we will be discussing ‘Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants’. If you would still like to buy the book and the above link does not work, please use this link to Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Foragers-Harvest-Identifying-Harvesting-Preparing/dp/0976626608/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351092251&sr=1-1&keywords=a+forager%27s+harvest/&suburforag-20

Will books be available for purchase at the event?

Unfortunately, no. Had we had an early response, we would have been able to make an order for a bulk discount.
