What we're about

The concept is simple: just turn up and start writing. With poets, novelists, screenwriters and even standup comedians we create the environment needed to concentrate hard on your chosen project. After the writing finishes, we go for a drink afterwards to get to know one another. All welcome!

*HOW WE WORK*

Time to write!

For the first half, we work on our own material before drifting into more of a social! We work on our own projects, from novels to screenplays to blogs, literally anything that involves writing! Bring whatever you feel comfortable writing with - notepad, laptop, tablet, pen and paper, etc.

Everybody is welcome, from amateurs to professionals. We aim to offer an all-inclusive and supportive environment. No need to be there on time either. We like to get in the zone for writing and save the chat for the social.

*THE VENUE*

Archive has a huge event space at the back of their coffee shop that’s open as an extension of the coffee shop. Numbers aren’t really an issue for those still wanting some distance.

They serve delicious coffee and brunch as well as having a fully licensed bar, serving draught beer, bottles of craft beer, wines and cocktails too.

We plan to have both the writing session and social at the same venue, please be patient as we find our feet again!

The following buses will take you to the Archive: 14, 33, 34, 508, A1 (these buses can be caught on Wellington Street near the train station). The stop to get off at is Kirkstall Fire Station, there will be then be a crossing to take you over to the other side of the road.
