Talks:
Adam Hepton - I Just Want to Code
Developers can get frustrated in a variety of ways; in this talk, experienced technical manager Adam Hepton discusses what it’s like to be frustrated in coding for you and those around you, and what you can all do about it to help each other.
Daniel Irvine - Building React apps using test-driven development (TDD)
React is difficult to test well, but high-quality testing is certainly achievable with a little thought and discipline. In this talk I'll build a React application using strict TDD with just Jasmine and plain ol' React Test Utils. This is a "first-principles" approach that our team found effective when we first started learning and using React.
React Test Utils is quite basic but it does the job. There are occasions when additional frameworks like Enzyme can help, and I'll also take a look at some of those scenarios.
Please note the group is intended for people looking to expand their knowledge. While recruiters are welcome to come and learn, we operate a strict no recruitment policy.
