Let’s send them off!

The Sep 11th National Memorial Trail Tour participants are scheduled to depart from their hotel at 8:00 am on Monday morning, ride into Trexlertown, over to the Lehigh Parkway and eventually pick up the D&L towards Easton and continue on their way.

I will plan on meeting them at the Allentown Fish Hatchery (mile marker 8.5) around 8:30 am and ride along with them to Easton where I will say goodbye and head back again. This will be an out-and-back, mostly unpaved route of 45-50 miles. Turn around sooner or join later to make it a shorter route.

Leaving from Velo 5:30 pm, must sign LVCC ride log to ride. As a visitor, first ride your covered, when you come back for next ride, we encourage you to join the club, lvcycling.club to be covered as a member under insurance policy.

Velo to Bowers park, short stop 5-7 mins. Bowers back to Velo. 22-25 miles

Wear a helmet, roads are open, no crossing the yellow lines, and all riders must adhere to PA vehicle driving rules. We do not call clear at intersections- responsibility of rider to look both ways before proceeding. Encourage 2 by 2 riding, single file when roads are busy.(cars back) and always look over shoulders before you “change lanes”

Will wait for riders. However, please know your riding skills in a group ride. Dave S offers a beginners ride for those not familiar with group riding (5:30 by barn).

Come ride with us from the Trexlertown Velodrome for a friendly ~16-mile road ride into Berks County.
This is a supportive, no-drop group ride focused on helping cyclists become more comfortable and confident riding with others. Many riders join us to learn group riding skills, improve bike handling, or prepare for faster club rides in a welcoming environment.

Our ride leaders and experienced club members ride alongside the group to help newer riders learn:
- Safe group riding habits
- Communication and etiquette
- Shifting, pedaling, and pacing techniques
- Cornering, braking, and positioning
- Paceline fundamentals and drafting
- Overall riding confidence

The atmosphere is relaxed and community-oriented, and we work hard to make sure nobody feels left behind. If riders become separated, experienced riders will help bring them back to the group.
When needed, we may split into smaller groups so everyone can ride at a pace and comfort level that works for them. There's no pressure for you to go with the front group.

Average pace is around 13 mph, depending on terrain and conditions. Riders should be able to comfortably complete a 16-mile ride before attending.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for a quick bike safety check.

Road bikes and pedal-assist road bikes are welcome. Helmets are required.

Ride begins at the Velodrome parking lot by the Red Barn.
