One of the features of the Data School training program (https://www.thedataschool.co.uk/) is getting to teach others. We've decided that we should teach YOU, the public, instead of each other. Join us virtually for a day of Tableau training. We'll run 4x 90 minute training sessions - you can join for the whole day, or just sessions that interest you.

Agenda

> 9:00 - 9:15 | Introductions

> 9:15 - 10:45 | Map Layers in Tableau
This session will cover a general introduction to spatial data in Tableau and then dive into how to make the most out of Tableau's map layers feature (introduced in Tableau 2020.4)

> 11:00 - 12:30 | Succeed with Sets in Tableau
Sets are a staple in Tableau that let you organise your data and add richer interactivity to your dashboards. This session will cover what sets are, practical applications and help you understand the difference between groups, sets and filters.

> 13:15 - 14:45 | Perfect your Parameters in Tableau
Playing counterpart to the previous session on Sets, this session will focus on Parameters in Tableau. Parameters let users input a variable to add richer interactivity and understanding to a dashboard. In this session you will learn how, why, and when, to use parameters.

> 15:00 - 16:30 | Tableau Dashboard Interactivity and Actions
While Interactive dashboards let your audience actively engage with the data, poorly designed interactivity can leave users confused and unable to find deep insights in your data. In this session put your data-designer cap on and learn how to master dashboard actions. From an introduction to dashboard actions, to how multiple dashboard actions can interact together, this session aims to give you the confidence to build delightful interactive dashboards.

NOTE: The topics covered are usually not appropriate for Tableau beginners. If you want to start using Tableau check out the 'Beginner' streams in our Thursday Training at Three sessions ‘Tableau Desktop’ training sessions.

Please have Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder 2020.4 (or higher) already installed on your laptop (if you don't already have Tableau installed, you can download a trial of Tableau at https://www.tableau.com/en-gb/products/trial)
