He will be talking about Azure Functions with Node.js.

Azure Functions are event-based serverless functions that developers can use to speed up development and decrease server costs. In this talk, we’ll explore Azure functions and deploy them in a live coding demo that uses them as the backend for a sample mobile application.

We’ll use continuous integration with GitHub to deploy so developers don’t have to visit the Azure console.
After the application is setup, we’ll discuss strategies for debugging Azure functions both locally and in production.

More about our Speaker – Dan Silver

Dan Silver is a Software Engineer at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Since joining the company, he’s worked on System Center Configuration Manager and the Microsoft Graph. He’s currently working on the Microsoft Graph JavaScript and TypeScript libraries.
Dan’s also an Android app developer and has published successful apps in the store. When not working on engineering projects, Dan can be found at hackathons and helping developers on their projects.

After Dan's presentation, we'll continue talking and discussing the Azure Functions with C# and we will show many practical examples.
This presentation will cover some of the real-world examples with Azure Functions which we faced while migrating hosted solution into the cloud environment.
Some of those examples are:

• Invoking Azure Functions from code
• Creation of VM
• Deletion of VM
• Scheduling and AF

Dejan Slijepčević is .NET Software developer at Levi9 IT Services. Besides .NET technologies, he recently worked on Angular2 based application and bringing hosted solution to the cloud. Currently, he is busy with finishing MA thesis on comparation of native and hybrid mobile app development. When he is not behind the keyboard his interests involve basketball, movies and traveling.
