I am a young retiree nearing 60 years of age. Have always been a liberal thinker thanks to a mother who didn't know she was a liberal just a good person of strong character. I am single with a wonderful dog living in Irving, TX. Have a couple of ex-husbands and no children.I had a long career working as a civilian around and for the military. Have traveled extensively and lived several places. I was transferred here 20 odd years ago and now call this home. I can't imagine leaving. Enjoy good conversation with smart people. Have been lacking in this regard.
Want to meet other liberal thinking women who can discuss topics of the day. Am so glad to see this is here. Am also looking for some fun times with other like minded people.
Was born and raised near Chicago, and the whole family is liberal or what's left of us. Was very active in the Women's Movement in Tampa Fl for the ERA and women's right to choose in the '70's. Have worked for years on political campaigns for progressive candidates. Since moving to Texas, I have had to temper my opinions because "liberal" seems to be a bad word here. Well, I'm tired of that and am very fearful that today's social environment will become so tainted with non-liberal thinking that we will have to go underground. I'm just not willing to accept that. I try to suround myself with other liberal thinkers especially women thinkers.
Hello...it is wonderful knowing the Liberal Ladies Who Lunch. There is much energy and fun to be had by all while we cuss and discuss the issues of the day.
I don't know who made a title change or how for the book club. It's probably some of the men who have been told to leave us alone. There is no name on the appeal. Whoever is doing this just wants to disrupt us. Ignore people like this. Kim Morris, Director
