What we're about

In creative group journaling workshops we use free-writing and discussion to explore different themes, for self-discovery, fun and creativity. Past workshops have had us describing ourselves as a sculpture, setting our theme for the year, creating new days of the week, exploring time and how you can’t waste it going forwards, wondering what happened next to the hare and the tortoise, and much more.
Using free-writing gets our pens moving. It can give us headspace, uncover different perspectives and sometimes surprising insights. It’s a lovely way to celebrate your ‘you’-ness, especially when shared with others. It helps us to see that we’re all in the same boat and gives us inspiration and encouragement. It can also surface creative nuggets and be a lot of fun. Yes, we’re allowed to have fun and write.
Writing can be insightful, and we might share things we write (always optional), but please note, this is not a therapy group and isn't suitable for replacement of individual/group therapeutic work.

About Me
I’m a Facilitator and Coach who helps people find, come back to and express themselves through writing. I've been running writing workshops and coaching since 2018.
"The lovely Claire led the session, giving us a prompt and then setting us loose on the page for five minutes of free writing. Each of us read out our pieces at the end of each five minute writing slot (always optional), and it was amazing the range of thoughts and images that were produced. I’m not intending to use any of those pieces for another project. They existed in that moment and I’m glad to let them go. They reminded me of the joy of simply writing, going wherever my mind takes me, and not worrying about form, function, content or purpose. I will definitely be going back when I can, and I very much look forward to more random exercises in brain splurging with Claire and the other members."
"I have attended several sessions now and have left each time feeling inspired by what emerged from such simple prompts: so unexpected the different directions taken by each of us and so lightly held that we each felt safe to share or not each time..."

Creative Me - a workshop to explore your creativity

Link visible for attendees

£19.00

In this session focused on 'creativity' we'll use free-writing exercises (no experience or grammar required) to explore:

* What creativity means to you
* Tease out what you'd like to explore or achieve - however big or small
* What's getting in the way
* What you'd like to do next

Creativity, for you could mean anything. It could be, amongst other things: writing a novel or a journal, starting a new project or business, it could mean learning to do life drawing or Flamenco dancing. Everything we undertake is a creation, so don't worry if your brand of creativity doesn't include a smock or a typewriter.

You'll leave with:
* Inspiration to take steps into your creative projects, however big or small
* Having a lovely shared experience with like-minded souls
* Some vital next steps to step into your creativity

Zoom details are revealed once you book.

Journal/Write together - space to work on your own projects

Needs a location

Give yourself some time and space to do some writing (anything - any level). There will be a little time to share what we're each working on and time to ask for help if needed but the main purpose of this session is to actually do some writing.

Come along and experience the joy and value of writing and sharing with others at this free taster session. Journaling is incredibly useful and has many, many benefits. Journaling with others takes things to another level. As well as the accountability of writing with other people, we tend to write differently; often more, than we would on our own. Sharing is at the core of this session (in pairs). It doesn't have to be what you wrote word for word, it could just be how the exercise was for you and anything noteworthy you'd like to share. The writing prompts will help you to surface new insights and ideas, giving you clues as to what needs to happen in your life to get you where you want to be, or just to make it more enjoyable. Best of all, no writing talent, knowledge or experience - and definitely no grammar - is required.

This session will:

  • A chance to 'try before you buy' (my other workshops)
  • Give you some time, just for you
  • Give you the opportunity to do some writing (from prompts)
  • Give you some headspace, perspective and insight
  • Connect you to yourself and others.
  • Give you a lovely shared experience with like minded souls

It’s creative, supportive and fun, so why not come along and give it a go. You'll leave with some insights, some headspace and satisfaction of an hour well spent, in good company.

PLEASE NOTE you'll need to register via the Zoom link - this is for security purposes. Thank you.

These session are free, but if you'd like to buy me a coffee (or a Ko-fi!) click here: https://ko-fi.com/cpsdayoff thanks!

Write for your life PLUS - Creative group journaling

Link visible for attendees

£19.00

It’s like journaling, but with other people! Trust me, it’s fun, energising, inspiring, supportive, rewarding and creative too.

Journaling with others takes things to another level. As well as the accountability of writing with other people, we tend to write differently; often more, than we would on our own.

We use free-writing prompts to get writing. It could be a new season, a painting or National Penguin Day that we take for our inspiration in this session. It’s all just a place to start and then explore what comes through in our writing, whether that's creative, straight journaling or a combination of both.

Writing and sharing (always optional) never fails to connect those taking part in the joys and challenges of being human. It can also be a lot of fun and a great creative outlet.

Best of all, no writing talent, knowledge or experience - and definitely no grammar - is required.

Sessions are great for stress relief, building confidence, and uncovering different perspectives and sometimes surprising insights. It’s also a lovely way to celebrate your ‘you’-ness and realise that you're never alone when you have a pen in your hand.

This session will:

  • Give you some lovely 'you time' to connect with yourself, and others
  • Get you writing - journaling/creative/both
  • Give you headspace, perspective and insight
  • Give you a lovely shared experience with like- minded souls
