LifeTalks - Will a dose of nature become the prescription for mental health?

Dr Dan Bloomfield has been developing nature-on-prescription activities under the project banner A Dose of Nature since 2014. Recent emphasis on social prescribing within the NHS has coincided with research around this topic, at the University of Exeter and elsewhere, as well as a great deal of enthusiasm from nature and conservation organisations, keen to see the value of what they do given greater emphasis. As a psychotherapist, Dan has been wondering for a while now about whether a dose of nature could – even should – ever become a ‘normal’ treatment route for adults with common mental health problems. What are the advantages, potential pitfalls, and what is the evidence? This talk will explore these questions and more. Open to everyone.
