CRAFT beering ON - Liferay meetup edition

Details
Did you know?
It’s Craft Conference (https://craft-conf.com/) time again in Budapest. That means, Liferay (https://www.facebook.com/LiferayHungary/) has a reason again for making a meetup for you :)
We will have awesome speakers from the international community: Nicolas Fränkel and Marcus Bointon who will talk about Spring Boot and TLS encryption.
Nicolas is a Software Architect with 15 years experience consulting for many different customers, in a wide range of contexts (such as telecoms, banking, insurances, large retail and public sector). He’s usually working on Java/Java EE and Spring technologies, but with narrower interests like Software Quality, Build Processes and Rich Internet Applications. He is currently working for an eCommerce solution vendor leader. Also doubles as a teacher in universities and higher education schools, a trainer and triples as a book author.
Marcus - when not working on smartmessages.net (https://info.smartmessages.net/) and supporting 1CRM (https://www.syniah.com/)- is the maintainer of PHPMailer (https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer), a top-10 PHP project on GitHub, and probably the world's most popular email sending code. He is a committer for the Less CSS meta-language, a contributor to many other open-source projects, and wrote the WHATWG HTML5 email address specification. He's an accomplished Linux sysadmin and MySQL DBA, providing performance, scalability and security consulting and a technical writer and pentester for Radically Open Security.
He has spoken at technical conferences in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and the USA. Currently he lives in the French alps with his wife and kids, where he can indulge his passions for skiing and mountain biking.
So come and meet us again at Krak’n Town, drink some CRAFT beer and have some snacks with us!*
Agenda:
17:30 - Doors
18:00 - Nicolas Fränkel Spring Boot is a product from Spring, providing many configuration defaults for new Spring projects. One can set up a Spring Boot project in minutes. However, this is only one of the many features of Spring Boot. One module also provides many important Non-Functional Requirements out-of-the-box: monitoring, metrics, exposing those over HTTP, etc. In this presentation, Nicolas will demo some of those, that will make DevOps more than a little happy.
18:40 - Marcus BointonTLS encryption is a an important part of web site, service and app deployment, playing a vital role protecting data in transit. Security software must be carefully designed and implemented, so changes are often slow, but TLS 1.3 (https://github.com/tlswg/tls13-spec) brings some big changes affecting both security and performance for the better. This talk will give you a rundown on the shortcomings of TLS 1.2 and earlier versions, how the new version changes things, and what changes you may need to make in your deployments to take advantage of 1.3's enhancements when it's released.
19:20 - Craft beer & snacks - networking
- The welcome beer is on us, of course :)
