Welcome to The Light Chasers photography meetup. If you love all things photography, then join us and expand your photographic horizons as we embark on many adventures photographing the urban environment and natural landscape in and around Los Angeles and the Long Beach area. We will also hit the road from time to time to explore the desert areas and the Sierras!
Whether you are just starting out in photography and looking to learn as much as you can or are an experienced pro, come hang out with us and share your passion of photography as we explore new places both near and far.
In addition to our events, we will hold workshops on: Lighting, night photography, light painting, how to use filters, Photoshop techniques, Infrared Photography, and learning what all those settings on your camera are for, portraits and much more.
This will be a night time exploration in downtown Los Angeles in search of enchanting visions of the city, when the city is at it’s best…night.
We will begin with a brief Q&A on photographing at night. What settings to use on your camera etc.
We will meet at 7:00pm, depart by 7:15. We will take a leisurely stroll on a tour of downtown with cameras and tripods in tow.
We will be making photographs of buildings, streets, lights, traffic, people or whatever comes our way. Plan on staying out until at least 9:30pm or later. Wear comfortable walking shoes. We won’t be walking a great distance, but will likely cover 2 miles.
Bring extra batteries and a tripod is a must!
A cable release or remote for your camera is very helpful for night photography.
I recommend a wide angle lens.
Parking will be approx. $6. The lot is well lit and this is where we will meet. *There are 2 parking lots at that intersection. We will be at the larger of the two or the second one in from 3rd.
