Join us for a very unique and LA experience at the 36th Annual Simon Rodia Watts Towers Jazz Festival located in South LA at the Watts Towers. I've been to this event before and there is some fantastic jazz, food and local artists. "The oldest such festival in Los Angeles, paying tribute to the American music forms of Jazz, Gospel, Blues, the Avant Garde and Latin Jazz scene" .
Admission is FREE for this annual two-day music festival that features world-class live music and drumming performances, drum circles, dancing, art exhibitions, arts and crafts for sale, international food, and crafts activities for kids. Presented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Friends of Watts Towers Arts Center.
The event starts at 11am and goes to 4pm, but we will be meeting at 10:30 am (Union Station) You may choose to go as early or as late as you want, other wise you can meet us at Union Station. We will take the red line to 7th St./Metro Center and change over to the blue line. We will get off at the blue line at 103rd Street exit and walk 4 blocks through the residential neighborhood to the event.
I was there last year and there were over 7500 people there throughout the day. It was a blast. I hope you can join us.
Please be on time as we can't wait for you. It will take about 30min from Union Station to get to the event and it closes at 4pm. FYI There is a drum festival on Sunday as well.
Get the metro Day pass for $5.00 or you can drive there.
This is a FREE event
