  • Creating Change Through Art Making

    Oceanside Civic Center Library

Kick start your art making practice at the Oceanside Public Library this year. Join us for a 12-week series taught by local artist, Todd Gomes Aviv. The class will be held weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., beginning January 9 in the Civic Center Library Foundation Room, located at 330 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. Artist and teacher Todd Gomes-Aviv knows art can tell a story, “I want anyone to be able to look at my work, and see poetry in that moment." The class will use poetry, song lyrics, essays and other library materials as inspiration. From the materials, each student will develop a visual concept and complete a visual interpretation to add to their sketchbooks. This sketchbook will become a toolkit to help develop creative ideas. All materials, including sketchbook will be included in class. Registration is required, as space is limited to 15, and students must commit to all classes. Sign up in person at any Oceanside Public Library location or call (760)[masked]
