WHAT: An 8-hour Creative Solutions SPRINT for social impact from 6pm to 2am!
WHERE: The Music Building 584 8th Avenue between 38th and 39th Street Room 505
WHY: 8-i NYC will be working for Jerry, the DIY server - a server that can be made anywhere in the world, by anyone, for cheap. Really, really cheap. Because communication is a human right. And Jerry makes that easier for all. It's world changing. Learn more here: http://youandjerrycan.tumblr.com/haveyoumetjerry? (http://youandjerrycan.tumblr.com/haveyoumetjerry)
HOW: Jerry needs us to solve a few problems. And we're going to get that done. Depending on the size of our crew, we will break into two teams of designers, marketers, and techies.
Things we might make:
-
A new Jerry website - simplify text, redesign site, etc. This is one powerful story for all. Let's tell it that way.
-
An audio-free Jerry instruction video because not everyone has access to sound.
-
A PDF that uses infographics to explain how to make Jerry because literacy should not be a barrier to power.
-
A logo and a visual/narrative story for Jerry because a story such as this one needs to be spread all over the world.
What you can do:
Sign Up and Show Up!
Invite/Add friends who are designers, marketers, technical people.
Join the organizing team! (Leave a message on the wall)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Laptops, ipads, gadgets, power cords, sketch books, post-its, water bottle, lucky sweatshirt, glasses, lip balm, yoga mats, slippers, and anything else you might need for the revolution.
We promise you revolution, results, food and fun.
Cheers!
