A social group for all on the asexual &/or aromantic spectrums within the Liverpool and surrounding areas.
Please make sure you answer all three questions when requesting to join. Failing to do so will likely mean your request will be declined.
Accessibility: If anyone would like to join the meets but has specific accessibility needs, please please contact me. I base meets around the known needs of the group but I don't want to exclude anyone. I would love to get to know your needs (I have my own needs so I know first hand how difficult it can be) so I can make it as easy as possible for you to attend.
Ace Social Group - Regarding Allies
I’ve been asked about the group’s policy on allowing supportive non-ace or aro spectrum friends and allies to the group meets. The policy at present is that the group is for ace and aro spectrum people and anyone who falls elsewhere but will benefit from a social group for ace and aro spectrum. The aim is to keep it a “safe space” for such people, just as other queer/quasi groups are safe spaces, and as an organiser I strive my best for this aim but also request that it’s a group effort. And so while allies are welcomed, if they don’t fall into the category of ace or aro spectrum or otherwise would benefit, my gut thinking is that for ordinary meetings it should stay within this category that is already flexible. Obviously special occasions might be suggested where it would be agreed that it is cross-group or more queer/quasi general. This policy is open to be discussed and changed at the social meetings if members would like to discuss it.
