Her work has appeared in LUMEN, In Our Words: A Salon for Queers, Fabulously Feminist: Art for Eco & Social Justice, Firefly Ridge Literary Magazine, and After Ferguson, In Solidarity(Mourning Glory Publishing, 2015). Sam Peterson is a guy. But before that he was a boundary-shattering woman, a leader in Washington D.C.s punk scene, a tattooist and performance artist in NYC, and a homeless drug addict in Savannah GA. His work can be found in transgender frontierswoman Kate Bornstein's "Gender Outlaws: the Next Generation," and his one-human play, "F to M to Octopus" won best original script from the Independent. His latest work is a speculative memoir about having been a transgender man in treatment for drug addiction in our very own Butner, North Carolina, home of the "rehabilitation" industry. "Trunky (transgender junky)" will be published by Transgress Press (http://www.transgresspress.org/) in early summer. This event is not sponsored by Living Poetry and is posted for interest of our members.
