TALKS:
JavaScript on TV - Mato Žgajner
Modern web applications are most commonly used either on personal computers with a mouse and a keyboard or on mobile devices with touch input. Frameworks and libraries are often designed specifically for these use cases, even though there are many other ways to interact with applications. The talk will focus on the details of developing a web app intended for use on Smart TVs with the Vue.js framework. It will present specific issues that were encountered during development and attempt to assess the usefulness of the framework for this particular use case.
Going back to the stone age - Darko Božidar
Ever since the introduction of CSS animations and transitions, JavaScript animation has been considered as outdated, with big performance deficiencies compared to CSS. Is this true, is JavaScript animation headed for extinction? Well, not just yet. It turns out that going back to the stone age with JavaScript can be a much better approach when dealing with complex and reactive animations.
Fighting for quality - Matic Tribušon
The road from the initial proposed design and technical specs to fully functional feature in production can be long an painful with many twists and turns. The talk will cover what can be done in order to smooth this out in practice. Alongside with the process we will take a look at the must-haves and some nice-to-haves of front-end quality assurance techniques. Furthermore, we will show how the whole process helped us deliver a feature to production To satisfy more technical oriented attendees, we will take a look at some real-life front-end performance issues we encountered during the development process and will discuss solutions for them.
Lightning talks will be whatever you want to tell us about. No need to apply, just show up and raise your hand.
