New Year's Day Paddle

Details

I think Marilyn's suggestion has a lot of merit. This New Year's day will see a 'King Tide' event that will give us plenty of water to paddle on in the Delta and at the confluence of the Mokelumne and Cosumnes rivers. I have changed the time to coincide with the Sac Paddle Pushers event and we will see what transpires.

This will be our 6th NYD paddle. Open to all. Be sure to dress accordingly. Layered, non-cotton tops and bottoms are recommended. Dry suits/tops are a plus. Insulated headgear is also a good thing. Gloves or pogies are recommended to keep the hands warm.

We could explore the Cosumnes River up to the Tall Forest/Wood Duck Slough area and beyond if there is enough water. This is one of California's few 'wild' rivers, having no dams to restrict water flow making obstructions and botom conditions ever changing. Sand hill cranes are still here for a few more weeks, river otters are out and about, as are a lot of other wildlife residents in this area.
