There is great excitement surrounding AI in healthcare. A growing number of proof of concept studies have demonstrated the potential for AI to impact healthcare from operational activities to personalised treatment planning where the measures of success have mostly focused on the performance metrics of the AI algorithm and the insights generated by the model.
In order to fully realise the potential of these hugely powerful methods for healthcare, the ethical implications need to become a core part of how success is measured and an integral part of the deployment roadmap.
We look forward to welcoming experts in this area: Prof Krasimira Tsaneva-Atanasova, Dr Rob Challen and Dr Indra Joshi.
Prof Krasimira Tsaneva-Atanasova and Dr. Rob Challen will speak about their recent paper entitled "Artificial intelligence, bias and clinical safety".
