What we're about
Our vision is to actively engage fellow Christians on their journeys to spiritual growth and development as well as self-transformation( 3John 2).
Our mission is to foster members’ development and personal success through the integration of expository Bible Study, prayers and Self -Transformation Seminars. Spiritual Development The desire for the spiritual development of this group is inspired from the Bible in Psalm 119:63 “I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts”. In this time and stage of human history we need to spend time around the word of God with folks who are like-minded .
We need to demonstrate our hunger and seek earnestly to be fed from the Lord’s table. Our Lord Jesus commanded Simon Peter "Feed my sheep"( John 21:17). Well-prepared food are undoubtedly healthier than junk food. Many individuals of this generation had been fed for too long on “stacks” rather balanced diets. Many have listened to many "motivational" speakers who have given them what they wanted on the fly and left them dry afterwards.
To avoid the trap of deception( which must surely come to the world as predicted by our Lord Jesus Christ) we must be diligent in our study of the word of God as the sure Anchor for this life in preparation for the glorious life beyond. This would surely save us from end-time apostasy. Apostasy" means "to depart from the faith." Apostasy is the spirit of the last days which make people to turn their back on God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. They seek for power to solve their daily problems instead of seeking God the source of all enduring power. In the search for power some have left the church. Others think the Church is an old institution and have no relevance in their lives. Many want short-cuts and have neglected the God's principles for accessing His power. The problem is with fallen humanity. The problem is not with God. God has done everything to help fallen human race. But many would rather choose their own ways rather than follow God's own way. Yet we must deal with consequences of our "fallenness" in the form of death, diseases, chronic habits, and other socio-political problems
In this end time, we need power that comes from exploring the Word of God and living on God's promises. "And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth"(Matthew 28:18) . “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron"( I Timothy 4 :1-2). Jesus said in Matthew 7 :13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. We want to share the mind of God with this generation and challenge ourselves to live lives of purpose not just for this life but for the life to come, so that we fix our hope on receiving “ welcome faithful servant” ( Matthew 25: 21) and NOT “I know you not”( Matthew 7: 22-23)
The Self transformation seminars are driven by the passion to invest in the personal transformation of individuals as a springboard for individual success in all aspect of human endeavours . As Christians, we would be challenging and encouraging ourselves for success not just through the Bible but also through leading thoughts and ideas in management, business, psychology, economics, technology, humanities, international relations and much more. We believe that verse by verse and phrase by phrase expository Bible study is one of the most effective ways to access the redemptive resources in the Scriptures. There many reasons for this.
• It is the most proven method to help students and teachers avoid straying from the Scripture
• It provides effective way to teach people how to read their Bibles for spiritual growth and development.
• It helps to provide the context, meets the need for relevance , avoiding the temptation of allowing the clamour of the moment for relevance to dictate the message for an audience.
• It provides for practical applicability to students and the teacher and forces the teacher to handle the tough questions.
• It serves to humble the teacher and provide the two-edge sword for dissecting the lives of the teacher and audience.
• It enables the teacher to expound reverently and systematically the whole counsel of God.
Starting with the book of Ephesians, which is my favourite book in the Bible, we plan to navigate through the entire Scripture, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
