He leads technology development, scale-up and IP strategy. He completed his MA in biological sciences at University of Cambridge and a PhD in the Ellis Lab at Imperial College where his research focused on engineering non-model organisms for biomaterial production.
He has 10 peer reviewed publications in genetics, synthetic biology and biomaterials and was a member, then supervisor, of two award winning iGEM teams (Cambridge 2010 and Imperial 2014). We are testing out a new way to keep the community together with these talks. However using the space at Greenlab has a cost which we need to cover. We hope you understand that charging a little allows these events to continue.
London Biohackspace is a community-run molecular biology and microbiology lab based at the London Hackspace. To give you some idea of what we do, recent projects have included genetic modification of yeast, a cyanobacteria growing workshop, SNP testing, and sequencing DNA found in soil. We provide access to lab equipment and bench space to be used safely in individual or collaborative projects.
The lab is currently in hibernation but we will continue the invited talk series. We hope these gatherings will also provide a place to discuss projects, ideas and techniques of your own.
