There will be food, drink and lots of opportunity to chat to fellow engineers keen to learn and share!
Third and final talk now announced below!
Talk 1:
Title: How to SRE - an introduction
Abstract:
This talk is a practical introduction for getting started with SRE in
your organisation. From the origins of SRE at Google in 2003, this
talk covers the key principles: Service Level Objectives, error
budgets, shared responsibility and blamelessness.
Bio:
Florian Rathgeber has been a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Google Cloud for more than 2 years. Before Google, Florian built data pipelines for meteorological data at the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), after completing a PhD in Computational Science at Imperial College London.
Florian Rathgeber spends most of his spare time with the London tech community. He co-founded PyData London, used to be a GDG co-organiser and hosts codebar.io coding workshops for underrepresented groups.

Talk 2:
Title: From Chaos to Verification
Synopsis: Chaos engineering is a powerful, scientific discipline that helps you proactively surface evidence of weaknesses in your systems. Who wouldn't want that?
Russ Miles, CEO of ChaosIQ, will talk about some of the limitations of chaos engineering as it is currently talked about today. Through a collection of real-world examples he will show how useful, but misunderstood, a chaos experiment can be. You will learn how those limitations can be overcome by different types of system verification, what verifications can look like in real life, and how they augment chaos engineering experiments to avoid many of the complaints against chaos engineering by re-framing the value you get from adopting the practice. You will also learn how, by building a collection of system verifications, you enable a different level of collaboration and conversation about reliability and resiliency inside and across your teams.

Talk 3:
Crystal Hirschorn will be sharing her stories about her work around resilience & chaos at Conde Naste!
