7:15pm - Adopting an Agile Mindset - John Turley
True, deep collaboration fosters an environment where innovation can emerge and the whole world can change. In order to truly collaborate to the fullest, we have to approach our colleagues with an agile mindset. In this talk, you'll learn about what an agile mindset is, how you attain an agile mindset, and finally the benefits you'll receive from adopting this powerful framework for thinking.
John Turley is Adaptavist's Digital Transformation guru, adept at dissecting the challenges that individuals and teams have in adapting to change, and passionate about working through the issues to enable real innovation to emerge.
7:45pm - Kubernetes and GitOps - Ivan Pedrazas
This talk tries to explain why the industry has adopted Kubernetes and how come GitOps is gaining so much velocity. This talk is about Application lifecycle and business value. It is less about the Hows and more about the Whys. We will see how CI and CD are evolving and what to expect in the near future when adopting patterns like GitOps. This is a good talk to get a clear understanding of what is Kubernetes. Not very technical, but very insightful.
Ivan has a background in development and architecture. He has been helping companies like the UK Home Office, State Street, Soho House, or currently at InfluxData to adopt Kubernetes and release better software, more often. He enjoys designing and building platforms on distributed systems. Ivan has been running Kubernetes in production for the last four years.
Ivan is very involved in the community and he runs the Kubernetes London Meetup and, the London Production Workgroup also known as the secret meetup.
8:30pm - Close and pub
Please get in touch with Marc, Matt or Jack if you'd like to speak at this meetup or a future one :)
