All abilities welcome - we mainly fun fly and for the more competitive there will be a track to test your skills or race. Even if you're just curious on entering the hobby and looking for advice then drop by, although beware seating is scarce - so bring a camping chair or similar and see you out in the field - Happy Flying!
We'll have a track setup with gates and some races going. Massive prize money for the winner(s) is not included.
Other than "Common Sense" we request for safety reasons:
-
Before powering up your FPV Quad please check the laminated "Pilots VTX frequency list" at the field for any spare VTX bands - please be familiar with changing the frequency of your VTX/receiver. We'll allocate frequencies at the field before flying - Raceband only. Your VTX must be set to transmit at 25mW!
This VTX FT48X (http://www.banggood.com/FT48X-5_8G-48CH-25200600mW-Adjustable-Video-Transmitter-FPV-Racer-VTX-Raceband-p-1073899.html?rmmds=search) is a good option... or if you want more features such as channel changing from your OSD look at something like the TBS unify pro (https://www.electricwingman.com/tbs-unify-pro-hv-race-sma).

Always call out your intention to "power-up" your quad to other members flying and be ready to power down due to VTX clashes, please get some distance from other active pilots and change frequencies or wait until they've landed and power up and enjoy your flight. Pilots not using 5.8ghz video systems may power up and fly at will :)
-
Always call it loud for active fliers when your picking up your downed craft on the track, some members fly with a narrow lens and may not see you.
-
If your in a group when flying please be expediant about taking off when powered and ready to fly (best to power the quad last) up and disconnect power from the quads when landing as not to over-power other pilots VTX video feeds with RF bleedover and harmonics.
-
Insurance is not mandatory at this time but recommended. £8 from FPVUK will cover you for 6 months.
