Dear Europeans,

we just celebrated 2 years of our existance, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the London European Club!

This Club is not the oldest nor the biggest group on the London Meetup scene, but it most definitely is cool and very, very active and diverse both in terms of the type of events that we organise and in terms of membership. Thanks to all the lovely, clever people who give their time selflesly and keep on organising amazing events we have been to 328 events in two years, which means that on average there is an event at the London European Club every two to three days.

From hikes to trips around Europe, from movie nights to political debates, concerts, parties, comedy, picnics, exhibitions.....there is everything for people who are curious and want to find our more about Europe, who enjoy active lifestyle, debating, culture....and most of all who are happy with who they are and want to share their knowledge with others.

The Club is what you put in it...if you are actively participating you'll enjoy it more. Those of us who are organisers are commited to good quality, well organised events with a limited number of people rather than mass gatherings in the same old pubs. We always go out of our way to find new places, new exhibitions, national restaurants, hikes and movies, not because that is easy, but because it is more interesting and fun. The easiest thing would be to find a huge venue in central London and use it again and again and again, but London has soooo much to would be a shame not be a little curious and not to enjoy it.

As the Club grows, we'd like more of you to actively participate in this open European forum. If you know that something fun and quirky is happening in your community, tell us, a film festival or a concert, a political talk or a debate, we'll come and we'll ask the difficult questions about freedom of media, EU substidies, human trafficking, EU enlargement.....And then we'll all go for a drink and continue the debate and have a laugh, because all work and no play is no fun.

I hope you are enjoying the summer, the Olympics, your holidays, life....

Cheers and to many more happy returns!!!!

PS. The "no show" rule stays, because we only want people who show up at  our events to be members of this Club.
