Drawing and writing have been at the heart of Ingrid Andrew's life as an artist and poet, for over thirty five years.

More recently she has morphed into a singer songwriter and has hosted and featured a monthly night of 'vibrant music and poetry' for over two years in South London.   As 'heartssong' ~ poet and musician ~ she also performs all over London, on her own, and with musician friends.

Prolific, gifted, versatile and  naturally collaborative ~  this exhibition is a selection of Ingrid's paintings and drawings, still lives, portraits and landscapes.

There is also a slide show on view of 'Woman' in her many guises as she recreates and re imagines a world that she both celebrates and mourns.

Her latest evolving project, which combines art, music, poetry and dance and which has been described as 'breathtaking' and 'deeply inspiring' will be performed on the opening night of this show on Friday 18th September.  This will include the contributions of dancer, poet and musician friends

....' seriously incredible how each of your designs manages to be yet more sprightly-magical-child-wondrous than its predecessor . .'   Michael Horovitz

....' Lyrically powerful, the words seem to have worked their way up from the very centre of mother earth through the roots of the trees along the branches and out into the cosmos in spasms of seasonal reflection and humanistic musings. Simple yet profound, the songs are delivered with drama and passion. A curiously contagious act'

... the moment they started playing I was taken into the late '60s and early '70s; I felt I was listening to music and poetry reminiscent of The Incredible String Band, Roy Harper (or someone of that ilk and calibre) - and for thirty or forty minutes Ingrid weaved her magic of timeless word and song.   I believe she is one of the finest singer songwriter/poets I have come across for many years.  I gave up trying to pigeon-hole Ingrid that evening - but I never gave up on the image of Mother Earth."

Woman

rests

in the air;

she
hums

as she
spins

and
weaves.

An arc
of colour
appears
between her hands;
a soft rain falls,
the sun beams through
the clouds.

Her body
becomes transparent;
and stained;
like glass.

Red
orange
yellow
green
blue
violet
and
indigo.

When Woman
lent into the air;
and fashioned
a
rainbow
