What impact will autonomous vehicles have on our lives? How safe will they be? Who should be in charge of the algorithms that operate these vehicles? How might driverless cars transform the design of cities? What will happen to car ownership? What will the consequences be for employment? And what other questions should we be thinking about, before we travel further down the road towards widespread adoption of driverless vehicles?
This London Futurists event is being run by Thinking Box, as part of a project that aims to have national conversations on topics of social importance and to cultivate better democracies.
At the event, Paul Thistlethwaite of Thinking Box will be presenting some of the latest information and theories about driverless vehicles, reviewing a number of predictions, and facilitating discussion on key open questions arising. At the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to submit their views into an anonymous online survey. Compiled results will subsequently be presented to industry and made available to interested parties.
