Cryptocurrencies for profound good? Assessing the Transhuman Coin
Details
Cryptocurrency tokens are heralded by some as an important new means to allow more people to take part in the collaborative funding of humanitarian projects - and to benefit from a share in any increase in value generated by these projects.
Other observers are sceptical, seeing these tokens as being akin to an unsustainable Ponzi scheme, in which well-meaning participants are likely to lose money.
In this environment, the recently announced Transhuman Coin has generated significant attention. As declared on https://transhumancoin.finance/
"Transhumanism is the ideology of enhancing human life through science and technology. The Transhuman Coin is the first and only token dedicated to transhumanism. As a charity token dedicated to life enhancement, 2% of every transaction is sent directly to the Transhuman Charity Fund, 2% is redistributed to holders and 2% is sent to the Liquidity Pool... When you invest in Transhuman Coin, you make it possible for us to donate to researches and projects which are fighting diseases, disabilities and death through science and technology while you are rewarded. We will be regularly audited by external auditors to ensure transparency."
This London Futurists webinar will feature a number of the leadership team behind the Transhuman Coin. It will be an opportunity to ask questions to understand the vision of the founding team, their roadmap for next steps, and the opportunities and risks arising.
** Please note that, due to scheduling issues, this event is starting two hours earlier, that is at 2pm UK time, than most other London Futurists webinars. **
