So 80 years ago, they were pretty accurate, maybe not aesthetically, but conceptually...

By definition, any future speculation that the clothing industry makes must become true, since this is the basis of all the clothing cattle shows that we're periodically subjected too.

In fact, once you understand the connections between consumerism, fashion and profit; then it becomes clear that the clothing industry will do just about anything and everything to justify its existence and the ludicrous sums of money that it manages to siphon off from gullible members of the public.

Perhaps a better prediction is this awesome short film from the mid-20th century, which seems to have been nearly 100% accurate in nailing down most of the amazing advancements that new-fangled technology has brought us.
