This walk begins by crossing the Ash firing ranges in the Surrey Hills, a large area of open heathland and rolling hills, around here there can be foraging opportunities (see disclaimer).
After lunch in Pirbright and to celebrate Halloween and the day of the dead, we will visit the fascinating Brookwood cemetery, with its gothic architecture to set the mood, it was also known as the London necropolis. Being the biggest cemetery in Western Europe, it used to have its own railway line to transport the coffins and mourners from London, where the dead would only require a one way ticket.
Brockwood cemetery also has an impressive array of trees, including one of the largest collection of giant Redwoods in the country, so it's sure to appeal to nature lovers.
