Join us for our Spring Mayfair art gallery tour. Mayfair has long been the home of London's high-end, independent gallery scene, boasting an incredible concentration of art galleries in its quiet, elegant back streets, dealing in genres encompassing contemporary and traditional styles, modern masters and upcoming talents. This tour is part of a season of tours exploring the hidden world of London's independent art galleries. We will be taking in the big named dealers in the international contemporary art market, as well as smaller locally run venues. This tour will have a flavour of Sixties to it, with the highlights being photographic shows by David Bailey and Don McCullin, including their iconic portrayal of sixties celebrities such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones. To continue this theme will be visiting a show of Andy Warhol's polaroid photographs. We will be visiting the long established Victoria Miro gallery, for a retrospective of three generations of internationally acclaimed Danish artists, working across a spectrum of genre and media, such as artists’ books, three-dimensional works and architectural interventions. Please note that, due to the limited capacity of some of the galleries we will be visiting, numbers for this event are limited to 12 attendees, so make sure to book well in advance to guarantee getting a place. All funds raised will from this event will go towards the running costs of the meetup group. We hope you will appreciate, that by making a small contribution you will be enabling us to continue our work of creating more exciting and inspiring meetups for you to enjoy.
